What I’m watching this weekend: Mildred Pierce (1945)- 1 hr 51 mins

Mildred Pierce (1945) is a film that though a classic, I have only watched very recently. I had been saving it to watch during my family's movie time, but it was frequently placed on the back burner, as we watched other great movies and shows, such as The Crown. So, when my next turn to pick came up (we take turns in my family to pick something to watch), I went straight for it! It's a film where you become easily invested in the characters even as they annoy you, and rest assured they will! A recently divorced mother, Mildred Pierce, works hard to raise her two daughters amidst their economic hardships. When she achieves success, she faces a complicated relationship of blinded love with her diabolical, eldest daughter Veda (Ann Blythe), which sets into motion an endless stream of disaster, including murder. It’s a family train wreck and you will not be able to stop watching.

Be sure to tell me what you think of it in the comments!
