In the film version of this well known play, Henry Fonda stars as Mr. Roberts- a supply officer stationed on the cargo ship the Reluctant during World War II. To Mr. Roberts' disappointment, the debilitated ship - better known as "the Bucket" - will most certainly never see combat. Ready to do his part, he has been writing letters for months requesting to be transferred to active combat, but the ship’s dictator-like Captain (James Cagney) continues to stand in his way. A comedic film, the Bucket's crew rallies alongside Roberts, engaging in some “friendly” acts of opposition against their Captain!

It’s a delight to see the camaraderie between the Reluctant’s crew and Lt. Roberts. Each champions the other as they try to make the most of a hard time, engaging in all kinds of hilarity! You won’t want to miss it!
