Weekend Watch 8/3-8/4
What I’m watching this weekend: The Thin Man (1934)- 1 hr 33 mins
Yesterday was Myrna Loy’s birthday anniversary, so this weekend I though that I would “celebrate” by watching one of my favorites, The Thin Man! A comedy, romance, and mystery all rolled into one, you should at least see it once. Plus, if you like it, it is one in a series of many Thin Man films that come to life through Loy and 14-time co-star William Powell’s chemistry. Powell once said “Even my best friends never fail to tell me that the smartest thing I ever did was to marry Myrna Loy on the screen. I never saw Myrna go into a temperamental tantrum, rave and rant, or walk off the set in a huff. When we did a scene together, we forgot about the technique, camera angles and microphones. We weren’t acting. We were just two people in perfect harmony.” You shouldn’t miss seeing that on the screen!
