Weekend Watch 11/24-11/25
What I’m watching this weekend: Star of Midnight (1935)- 1 hr 30 mins
This weekend I’m finishing Star of Midnight (1935), a film I’ve never watched before. Mary Smith is a famous Broadway star who leaves during the first act of her show. That same night a gossip columnist is killed. Criminal lawyer and amateur sleuth, Clay Dalzell (William Powell) thinks that there might be more to the story and decides to find out for himself.
Powell is his usual, sophisticated self but his pairing with Ginger Rogers - often most associated with her frequent dance partner, Fred Astaire - makes this film especially interesting.
