James Stewart Movie Recommendation #1
You Can’t Take It with You (1946, in color) - 2 hrs 6 mins
Alice (Jean Arthur) has fallen for the boss’s son Tony (James Stewart), and the two are ready to get engaged. However, they couldn't have come from two more decidedly different families. Tony comes from a sophisticated and upstanding banking family. On the other hand, Alice comes from a home that is always buzzing and filled with a quirky group of misfits who have a radically different view of success than Tony’s family.
A sentimental romantic-comedy, You Can’t Take It with You is a distinctive film in that it's peppered with fun, vivacious characters and yet has a serious message at its core. Only director Frank Capra could have made such a film!
