Judy Garland Movie Recommendation #2

The Harvey Girls (1946, in color) - 1 hr 42 mins

On her way to the “Wild West," Susan Bradley (Judy Garland) is ready to marry a man that she has only gotten to know through letter correspondence. However, when she arrives at the New Mexico town of Sandrock, Esther finds that the man she dreamt of marrying is nothing like his letters.

Undeterred, she decides to stay, taking a job with the rest of the girls on her train to Sandrock at the Harvey House Restaurant. The establishment and the "Harvey Girls" threaten the riotous, uncivilized town - so much so that the local gambling house does anything they can to run the girls out of town.

The Harvey Girls is filled with top notch music, including an Oscar winning song (see below), gorgeous costumes, and a great balance of comedy and romance that has made it one of my favorite films since childhood. Let me know what you think in the comments!
