Weekend Watch 4/11-4/12
What I’m watching this weekend: The Band Wagon (1953; in color)- 1 hr 52 mins
Down on his luck musical star Tony Curtis (Fred Astaire) may just have found his come back vehicle in his two friend’s (Nanette Fabray and Oscar Levant) new broadway show. With an eccentric director guiding the production and a ballet dancer as his leading lady, Tony may or may not get himself the hit show that he needs. However, with direction from Vincente Minnelli (An American in Paris), I think that it is safe to say that it’s very likely!
A colorful musical featuring such classics as “Dancing in the Dark,” “That’s Entertainment!,” and fantastic numbers including the infamous “Girl Hunt,” The Band Wagon is a classic that aims to please!
