I shared more about this film about a year ago. It is not only a classic romance film, but a film that showcases the range of Greer Garson. Garson plays Paula- a show girl who meets a lost stranger one night. She gives him the name Smithy and takes him in. The two soon fall in love an d eventually marry, despite Smithy being unable to remember his past. That all changes when Smithy gets into an accident and is able to remember his former life and unable to recall the one he created with Paula.

Garson is wonderful as the playful, high-spirited show girl. Perfect as Smithy’s kind friend, and loving wife. And she reveals a more serious side when she is faced with mourning lost of the man she knew. It is a great display of Garson’s abilities and her enduring charisma
