Weekend Watch 2/2-2/3
What I’m watching this weekend: Nothing Sacred (1937; in color) - 1 hr 40 mins
It’s has been a while since I’ve seen it, but I am excited to re-watch Nothing Sacred for the first time in a few years. A fun and dramatic caper, the talented comedienne Carole Lombard stars as Hazel Flagg. Hazel has just been diagnosed with radium poisoning and reporter Wally Cook (Fredric March) is ready to get the scoop on a young Vermont girl facing a terminal illness. He even goes as far as to invite her to an all-expenses paid trip to NYC, hoping to publicize the story more. There's only one problem. Hazel was mistakenly diagnosed! Will Hazel go on with the ruse?!
* Please be aware that a scene in the film contains a racially insensitive joke. This post is in no way an endorsement of it.
